No Heroics Records

The eighth member of the Old 3C Label Group is No Heroics Records of Columbus, Ohio, directed by the members of Moviola, whose multiple releases appear on the label. “Scrape and Cuss,” their first album in 13 years, was released in 2020, along with their entire remastered back catalog (eight full-length LPs from 1994 – 2007). Moviola’s catalog is where scuzzy lo-fi, dusty Americana, SpaceEcho pop, and North Columbus soul collide, feed-back, and land squarely into a singular universe. To quote David Greenberger (NPR): “they’ve sidestepped the traps and girdles of any genre or tribe in favor of forging their own route, always beautiful and believable.”

In summer 2019, Moviola bunkered down in guitarist Jake Housh’s home studio to record their ninth record, the result of which we are thrilled to share with you here — 12 songs of joy, love lost, and mortal coiling that picks up right where they left off.
| Mail order the 12″ vinyl LP via Bandcamp ($17, available Autumn 2020, 300 qty).
