How to purchase Old 3C downloads
Old 3C works with the good folks at The Orchard to supply downloadable audio files
to a variety of on-line vendors, including iTunes, eMusic, and the Amazon MP3 store. Please visit these vendors (or many others out there in cyberspace) to get your legal download on. Viva la capitalism y'all.

| 3C 46 | Counter Intuits, self-titled CDR
| 13 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |
A collaboration between Jared Phillips (Times New Viking) and Ron House (Thomas Jefferson Slave Apts., etc.) Originally released as a very limited edition LP on Pyramid Scheme Records.
Buy the vinyl in the USA via Fusetron, or in Europe via Volcanic Tounge, while stocks last.

| 3C 45 | Randall Douglas Matson, Minor Motion Picture CDR
| 15 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |
Randall returns with his third Old 3C release. If you haven't yet hipped-yourself to this Columbus-area songwriter's fantastic tunes, tasteful, home-made production, and impressive voice, then now would be the time to correct that oversight.

| 3C 44 | The Malefactors of Great Wealth + The Black Swans, You'll Never See My Face in Kansas City Again, split 7" vinyl single
| 2 songs | $6.50 us (mail order) | $2 us (digital) |
Good friends JP Olsen of The Malefactors of Great Wealth and Jerry DeCicca of The Black Swans each contribute songs by the same title, backed by their respective outfits and inspired by the performance-art piece, "You'll Never See My Face in Kansas City Again," by Chris Burden (1971, more info can be found here). Note: the 7" single's artwork is different than the cover image used above for the download version.

| 3C 43 | Psandwich, Northren Psych CDR
| 11 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |

Psandwich, the Columbus-based super-group led by the legendary Ron House, ably assited by local veterans Brett Burleson, John Olexovitch, Bobby Silver, and Zac Szymusiak
, released this LP on vinyl-dedicated Columbus Discount Records label in late-2011. As with the rest of Ron's solid output, Old 3C is happy to launch this into the digital download world.

| 3C 42 | Alyosha Het, The Purgatourist CD
| 11 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |
Alyosha Het is a Columbus-area singer/songwriter who's first record, The Purgatourist, was issued by Indiana's Chain Smoking label in 2010. He soon hipped-us here at Old 3C headquarters to his Marc Bolan-meets-Robyn Hitchcock, home-brewed song-craft, and we brought him aboard. We think your going to like this a lot, and invite you to check-out even more tracks at his Reverb Nation site.

| 3C 41 | Randall Douglas Matson, The Interlocutor
CDR

| 15 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |
The prolific Mr. Matson is back with his second full-length release, just a few months after his well-received debut (Motorhome Boogie, 3C 39, below). And while it's clear that his previous work was pretty special, The Interlocutor is an even stronger set of songs, also expertly self-produced. The Buckley/Orbison/Thompson touch-points are still present, but Randall takes them to places only he can go. Beautiful stuff.

| 3C 40 | The Malefactors of Great Wealth, Today Is the Best Day of My Life CDR | 5 songs | $8 us (mail order) | $4 us (digital) |
This is a new project from James (J.P.) Olsen of Beetkeepers, Burn Barrel, and Great State of Ohio fame. He has a host of indie-rock luminaries helping him out on these five tracks, and they bring out the best of his intelligent, melodic songs. Produced by the legendary Anton Fier with assistance from Mike Jung and Tim Easton. Features contributions from Fier, Jung and Easton -- along with Matt Newman, Matt Surgeson, Tony Scherr and Aaron Lee Tasjan, among many others.

| 3C 39 | Randall Douglas Matson, Motorhome Boogie CDR
| 15 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |

Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Randall Douglas Matson is a Columbus-native who's written a novel and performed as a professional opera singer. Luckily for us, he's also taken the time to record his songs, which in this collection bring to mind legends such as Tim Buckley, Roy Orbison, and Richard Thompson. Old school folk, jazz and rock'n'roll combine in a potent, understated mix that warrants repeated listening.

| 3C 38 | Orchestraville, Poison Berries CDR and 12" vinyl LP
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |
$15 us (vinyl) |
Order the 12" vinyl LP directly from the band's Bandcamp site.
Originally scheduled for a 2005 release on Anyway Records, Orchestraville broke up before they could release "Poison Berries." Their final record finds them tossing aside the quirky rhythmic motifs of their previous work for a more conventional rock format. The addition of keyboardist Parker Paul (Curious Digit, solo artist) inject the songs with a classic rock and roll (not Classic Rock) feel. The 12" vinyl LP became available in September 2010, and the band has reunited for a few shows to celebrate its release.

| 3C 37 | The Beatdowns, 3-song 7" vinyl single
| 3 songs | $6.50 us (mail order) | $3 us (digital) |

The Beatdowns follow-up their free digital single (see Old 3C 29, below) with an honest-to-god, real-life slab of 7" vinyl. Produced by Bobby Sutliff, recorded by Adam Smith at Columbus Discount, mastered by Jon Chinn, harmonies by New Gentle Soul -- this is a real class-act production. Featuring the ace songwriring of Matt Benz, you'll want to hear "Sights & Sound," "Baby! Let's Get Lost," and "What Did I Love About Her?" over and over again.

| 3C 36 | Burn Barrel, Reviled! CD
| 10 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |

Originally released on Columbus' Heathen Records in 1999, Reviled features the songs of J.P. Olsen (Beetkeepers, Great State of Ohio) backed by long-time friends and collaborators the Haynes Boys (Tim Easton, Jovan Karcic, Phillip Park, Matt Surgeson) and other Columbus legends Derek DiCenzo, Teresa Fyffe, Marcy Mays, and Matt Newman. Bar-room roots-rock doesn't get much better than this. You might want to get hip to this now, in case you missed it the first time around.

| 3C 35 | Beetkeepers, self-titled CDR
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |

We're going back all the way to 1988 for this release by Beetkeepers, originally issued on 12" vinyl by seminal Columbus indie label No Other. Once again featuring the songs of J.P. Olsen, but this time with somewhat sparser instrumental backing provided by John Messersmith and Stephen Perakis. Alternately spunky and achingly melancholy, Beetkeepers provides ample listening pleasures.

| 3C 34 | Cruel, Cruel Moon, Refrigerator CDR
| 11 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |

If you haven't heard Cruel, Cruel Moon's classic Still Life CD (below), you should fix that right now -- and while you're at it, you should definitely give a listen to this equally great collection of songs from the same period. Even more immediate and raw than previous efforts, Refrigerator hearkens back to Television, Patti Smith, and the Velvets, by way of Akron/Kent. Cruel, Cruel Moon carry the torch for what "punk" was always meant to be -- smart and in your face.

| 3C 33 | Stark Folk Band, Well Oiled CDR and 12" vinyl LP
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) |
$15 us (vinyl) |
Those who've enjoyed the alternative Americana of Stark Folk's self-titled debut (below) may be a bit shocked by the rockin' quality of Well Oiled, which channels a 13th Floor Elevators meets Zuma-era Neil Young vibe. Not content to do more of the same, Stark Folk Band has turned up the volume and distorted the guitars, but Brady Burkett's quality songwriting still shines through. As with their first release, look for this to appear on limited-edition vinyl.

| 3C 32 | Househearts, Comfest 83
| 8 songs
| Free Download
Release via PatRadio.org |

Another free digital-download release hosted by the most-excellent PatRadio -- this includes eight songs from Househearts' 1983 performance at the Columbus Community Festival that took place at the former open-lot near Goodale Park. It was recorded back then on a hand-held tape player, and was recently EQ'd by the legendary Mike Rep for maximum sonic goodness.

| 3C 31 | Househearts, Counting Fifty Problems + Extras CDR
| 20 songs
| $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |

The long-awaited reissue of Househearts' critically-acclaimed 1985 debut, available now as a digital-download and CD-on-demand release. It includes the original 12" vinyl EP's seven songs, along with ten songs from the 1984 "farewell" show at legendary Columbus club Crazy Mama's (including several covers), and three demo songs recorded in 1982.

| 3C 30 | The Mealworms, Radio Cabinet Rabbit Hutch CDR and 12" vinyl LP
| 11 songs
| $12 us (mail order) | $8 us (digital) | $15 us (vinyl) |

The full-length release (limited edition vinyl, digital-download and CD-on-demand) from The Mealworms, a Kyle Siegrist and Matt Duckworth ragged-but-right recording project where they're ably-assisted by a variety of Columbus music-types. The boys have been involved in various bands over the years, and Kyle is, of course, owner of local record store institution Lost Weekend. Available as a CD-on-demand, or as supplies last, on 12" gray-marble vinyl with a free download code.

| 3C 29 | The Beatdowns, Disconnected Girl b/w Away from the Crowd
| 2 songs
|
Free Download Release via PatRadio.org |

The Beatdowns, five more or less well-respected gentlemen, are a Columbus, Ohio-based band that occasionally ventures out to play their uncertain brand of “power pop” -- you know, of the kind heard ever since one Mr. P. Townshend plugged in his Rickenbacker and hit a suspended D chord. With this, their new free single via PatRadio, the Beatdowns, like all good bands of their ilk and kind, attempt to conjure up the “A.M. sound” of the distant transistor radio past, dialing in somewhere between 1965 and 1972. That they manage to do that sans suits and Beatle boots is just frosting on the beater.

| 3C 28 | Great Plains, Live at WFMU
| 11 songs
| Free Download
Release via PatRadio.org |

Great Plains reunited in 2008 to play a series of shows in Hoboken, Brooklyn, and Boston with former Homestead label-mates Big Dipper. They also stopped in to visit with Terre T at legendary freeform station WFMU in Jersey City, where they recorded this live in the studio set, complete with an interview with the band. Many thanks to PatRadio for making it available for free to all.
The download includes cover-art for your iTunes playlist, along with CD-face, tray-card and jewel-case artwork.

| 3C 27 | Stark Folk, self-titled CDR and 12" vinyl LP
| 10 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) | $15 us (vinyl) |
After a series of recordings under the name A Landscape Yesterday, longtime collaborators Brady Burkett and Ryan Shaffer head off in a more roots-oriented direction -- think early Palace Brothers meets current-day Moviola. This release also marks Old 3Cs first limited-edition vinyl issue, so you collector-types might want to jump on this quickly. Did we mention how good it is? Well, we should have.

| 3C 26 | Ego Summit, The Room Isn't Big Enough CDR
| 14 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Columbus, Ohio indie-rock supergroup Ego Summit convened in 1997 to make this one record. Originally released on vinyl in a small quantity, it's now a bona fide collector's item. Featuring songs by Ron House (Twisted Shouts, Moses Carryout, Great Plains, Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments), Don Howland (Twisted Shouts, Great Plains, Gibson Brothers, Bassholes), Tommy Jay (Twisted Shouts, True Believers, Quotas), Mike Rep (Twisted Shouts, True Believers, Quotas), and Jim Shepard (Vertical Slit, Phantom Limb, V3), the boys managed to fit their considerable egos into a too-small room to produce this classic slice of home-made goodness.

| 3C 25 | Cruel, Cruel Moon, Still Life CD
| 10 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Arkon/Kent-Ohio band Cruel, Cruel Moon made one of the best and most criminally-overlooked CDs of the 1990s. Equal parts Velvets/Human Switchboard/Yo La Tengo, they produced an intelligent and melodic rock sound that few others have matched since. Enjoy this classic album in all its glory, and stay tuned for a forthcoming release of previously unheard material.

| 3C 24 | Vena Cava, self-titled CDR
| 9 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Columbus' own Vena Cava make their debut with this nice set of melodic noise rock. Previously self-released in 2005, we're proud to give it the Old 3C mail order + digital download treatment. Some may say that their inclusion has everything to do with one of the band members sharing a last name with the guy who runs the label. Hey, blood is thicker than water -- but rock breaks scissors, punk.

| 3C 23 | Mike Hagen, The Ballad of Fungobat CDR
| 17 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Mike Hagen, the artist formerly known as Fungobat, returns with this collection of mostly studio recordings to complement his previously well-received collection of four track recordings (see 3C 12 below). We're not sure why Mike abandoned the Fungobat name this time -- maybe it had to do with iTunes listing it as "Fungboat"? Anyhow, if you liked Vol.1, you'll definitely like this one too.

| 3C 22 | Various Artists, Twenty One and Hungover CDR
| 21 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Old 3C celebrates reaching adulthood (yo, twenty one releases!) with this compilation. One song from each release in order of their release. Just see the descriptions below to figure out what you might expect to hear.

| 3C 21 | Ron House, Obsessed CD
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Ron House’s (Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments, Great Plains, Moses Carryout, Twisted Shouts) solo CD documenting a friend’s mental and marriage issues (don’t worry, it all worked out in the end). Ably assisted by a TJSA band-mate Bob Petric, and the boys from long-time Columbus acts Moviola and the Black Swans. Originally released by the Moses Carryout label in 2002.

| 3C 20 | Ron House, New Wave as the Next Guy CDR
| 18 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
As advertised, Ron House, from his early days with pre-Great Plains outfits Twisted Shouts and Moses Carryout. Originally released on the Spare Me label in 1999. Some of you may also remember these tracks appearing on the “Blind Boy In The Backseat” cassette release by Columbus label Old Age in the ‘80s.

| 3C 19 | Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments, No Old Guy Lo Fi Cry CD
| 13 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Columbus, Ohio legends Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments, in their late ‘90s final line-up. Somewhat ignored upon release, these songs only sound better as time goes by. Originally released by Bobby Pollard’s Rockathon label in 2000.

| 3C 18 | Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments, Bait and Switch CDR
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Mid ‘90s classic line-up Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments. “Bombs away on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.” y’all. “Blow it up before Steve Albini makes a speech” indeed. Originally released by Onion/American Records in 1995.

| 3C 17 | Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments, You Lookin' For Treble? CD
| 20 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
The Slave Apartments in their early ‘90s line-up. Great collection of hard-to-find tracks that led up to their high-profile “Bait And Switch” release on Onion/American. Originally released by Year Zero in 1997.

| 3C 16 | Great Plains, Slaves to Rock N Roll CDR
| 15 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Some of you may remember this release as a cassette from 1985. If so, you're pretty freakin' old. If not, then it's new to you. The original tracks are here, except for a few things that ended up on Cornflakes. But we've made it up to you by adding some other previously-unavailable-in-the-digital-world material. Are the Great Plains vaults now officially emptied? Hard to say -- better stay tuned to see.

| 3C 15 | The New Normal, The Sprightly Sounds of The New Normal CDR
| 8 songs | $10 us (mail order) |
$6 us (digital) |
Absolutely fantastic songs from Chicago's Mike Ritt (Peck of Snide, Shades of Al Davis, Midwest Music Liquidators), ably-assisted by his pals from the Young Fresh Fellows and other Seattle indie legends. Recorded at Egg (owned by Conrad Uno) in a sort of indie-rock recording party experience. Originally released on Mike's Mallard Pointe label in 2003, it's now available here for your mail order and download pleasure.

| 3C 14 | Shades of Al Davis, The Midwest Peace Talks Vols.1, 2 CD
| 11 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
The second Shades of Al release, which takes a slightly different approach than the first (see 3C 08 below). Namely, Mike Ritt and Alan Spindle contribute most of the songs, with original main Shades-man Steve Lindstrom taking somewhat of a back seat. It's equally great, but in a more home-made indie-pop sort of way. Like the New Normal release, it was also released on the Mallard Pointe label (back in 1999). Yep, you'll need this one too.

| 3C 13 | Saint Paul & His Coalition of the Willing, Everyone Is Wrong CDR
| 13 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Subtitled "12 Laments from the 2nd Bush Era + Bonus Track,"
Paul Nini lets loose with his third solo effort, assisted by a Who's Who of musical pals including members of Log, Moviola, Shades of Al Davis, the New Normal, Great Plains, Househearts, Peck of Snide, Vena Cava, and New Basics Brass Band. Liberals everywhere should listen to this as they celebrate the Democrats' huge wins in the mid-term 2006 elections.

| 3C 12 | Fungobat, Greatest Hits Vol.1 CDR
| 27 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Four-track recordings from the late '70s to the late '80s, by Cincinnati popster and songwriter Mike Hagen. Some classic songs that predate the whole lo-fi thing from the early '90s by a long shot. Look out for Vol.2, which will feature a full-load of studio recordings. Not sure when that's coming out, but we'll let you know -- actually it is out now, so see 3C 23 above for more info.

| 3C 11 | Log, Logjammin' CDR
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Log's "Odds and Sods"
if you will. Features re-recordings of early material, a lost track rescued from an obscure compilation, some live and studio covers, and alternate versions of some Log Almighty tracks. This one closes the book on Log's ten-plus year run. Fans of the Big Lebowski will enjoy the title and cover art.

| 3C 10 | Great Plains, Live at the Electric Banana, Pittsburgh, 1985 CDR
| 21 songs | $12 us
(mail order) | $8 us (digital) |

Some of you may have been lucky enough to hear this on cassette back in the '90s -- and now it's finally been made digital for your listening pleasure. This set catches the Plains in great form as part of their "Let Dick Clark Work Out All the Details" tour in the spring of 1985.

| 3C 09 | Log, Log Almighty CD
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |

More of Log's critically acclaimed, melodic indie rock -- featuring various special guests and some of their finest
songs ever. Purchase it on-line through the good folks at Anyway Records (who coreleased it) and Revolver Distribution USA. You can also buy it directly from Old 3C via Amazon.com, if that's your thing.

| 3C 08 | Shades of Al Davis, self-titled CDR
| 15 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Former Peck of Snide members Steve Lindstrom + Mike Ritt team up with Alan Spindle
to create some very nice, acoustic-based songs (recorded early-90s). Also check-out their mighty-fine CD of later material, The Midwest Peace Talks Vols.1, 2 (above).

| 3C 07 | Log, The Early Years CDR
| 18 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
All of the songs from their one full-length and two EP releases for the Anyway label, which
came out in 1993, 94, and 96. Remastered and collected here in one handy package for your convenience.

| 3C 06 | Paul Nini & His Orchestra, Life in These United States CDR
| 18 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
The first solo release by Log's frontman, originally released in 1997 by the TMIV label. Repackaged and offered here, since you probably missed it the first time. Features covers of Go-Betweens, Choir, and Tall Dwarfs songs.

| 3C 05 | Peck of Snide, Moot CD
| 14 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |

Early 90s band featuring Steve Lindstrom + Mike Ritt (Shades of Al Davis), Paul Nini
(Log, etc.) and Jerry Schweigert. Country-tinged indie rock, well-liked in Sweden, for whatever reason. Also originally released in 1997 by the TMIV label, and repackaged and re-released by Old 3C.

| 3C 04 | Great Plains, Cornflakes CDR
| 26 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Material that wasn't included on the 2-CD set (below). Includes alternate studio + live versions
of familiar songs, previously unheard originals, and obscure covers. For no particularly good reason, we've made this available for order again. We think Ron forgot why he wanted us to sell only fifty. Anyhow, order at will.

| 3C 03 | Paul Nini, The Mannerist Age CDR
| 12 songs | $12 us (mail order) |
$8 us (digital) |
Melodic keyboard drones and slow pop goodness from this Log frontman and former member of Great Plains, Peck of Snide, and Househearts. Sit back and enjoy the bliss.

| 3C 02 | Great Plains, Length of Growth 1981-89, 2-CDR set
| 50 songs | $17 us (mail order) |
$13 us (digital) |

The well-received 2-CD retrospective set that includes almost all of the songs from the
1980s Homestead (US) and Shadowline (NL) releases of these Columbus, Ohio legends. Now available as a 2-CDR set, though some copies of the original pressing might still be found on-line (good luck with that).

| 3C 01 | Log, Auto Fire Life CD
| 14 songs | $12 us

Critically-acclaimed, melodic indie-rock from this long-running (1993-2004) Columbus, Ohio band, which included
former members of Great Plains and Naked Skinnies. A few copies of the 1999 pressing of this release are still available, so order away to hear Log's satisfying, no-frills, rollicking songs.

About Old 3C's releases: Old 3C's early releases were manufactured CDs, but since then we've also concentrated on made-to-order and small-edition CDR and vinyl runs. Either way, you're going to find things here that you won't see too many other places, and at good prices too. We'll be doing more of all types of physical releases, so please check back now and again for updates. As well, please see our digital retail partners listed in the Streaming Jukebox, where you can get your download on. Finally, please note that we're now also offering all of our releases as digital downloads direct from Old 3C -- see the Order page for details.
